When long multiplication gets tricky, strip back the lesson and let the children be in control. Each table took it in turns at being the teacher, whilst they explained the method of long multiplicationto their group. It was then up to the pupils' to watch carefully to ensure each teacher was explaining the method correctly. All children had a go at being the teacher and they found this really effective to help with their sums.
