Our Primary 6 Salmon Ambassadors had a fantastic time visiting the River Faughan this morning. During this field trip, they did a habitat study on the river. They learned about the flow of the river, the temperature, and the different insects & fish that live in the river. The children had the opportunity to take kick net samples from the river, bring the samples into their trays, and analyse what they picked up. Some groups found Freshwater Shrimp, Cased Caddis, Mayflies & Stoneflies. Overall, a very interesting and enjoyable morning and we would like to thank Jack & Michael from the Loughs Agency for providing us with lots of valuable information. ?
